Achievement Awards Program is an overarching K–8 initiative jointly supported by PBIS and PTSA that celebrates student success in academics and behavior while reinforcing a positive, inclusive school culture.
PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) is a school-led, schoolwide initiative at Carrollwood K–8 that promotes a positive culture among students, staff, and families. Students earn Hootie Bucks for positive efforts, interactions, and attitudes which are tracked and used towards incentives and celebrations.
Students will be recognized every quarter for their outstanding achievements by grade level on dates determined by their teachers. This allows each grade level to celebrate student success in a way that best fits their schedule while honoring academic excellence, positive character, growth, and other accomplishments throughout the year. Please view the list of award categories below to see the honors students may earn during these celebrations.
Each grade level will also recognize one outstanding class as the recipient of the Hootie Cup! The Hootie Cup is awarded to the class that earns the most Hootie Bucks for that quarter. Hootie Bucks are part of our PBIS behavior incentive program and are awarded by teachers to recognize students for demonstrating positive behavior while being "respectful, responsible, and safe".
